Husband Arrested for Assault

Around 10:30 p.m. on September 9th, Fairview Township Police arrested 45-yr old Mark Mealey Sr at the Red Carpet Inn, New Cumberland, for assaulting his wife in a room at that location earlier in the day. According to his wife, Mealey was drinking and became very angry. At various points throughout the afternoon, she said he would strike her in the head and push her. She was eventually able to leave the motel room after he passed out, and reported the incident to police. The victim went to a local hospital and was treated for minor injuries. When police went back to the motel room to arrest Mealey, he refused to obey the officers orders and a Taser was used to take him into custody. He was charged with Simple Assault, Terroristic Threats, and Harassment. He was taken to the York County Booking Center where he was arraigned and given $30,000 bail.
