Do you know what to look for if your child is on drugs? Do you know how to help them if you find out they are using them?
On October 9th at 7:00 p.m., the Fairview Township Police Department will be holding a drug education seminar on the signs and trends of drug use. Any parent with a child in high school or middle school is urged to attend. The training will be targeted towards parents of teens, but the information provided will be beneficial to anyone who is concerned about drug abuse.
Although it will be discussed briefly, the primary focus will not be on police involvement and enforcement. The hope is that through this training, parents will be able to recognize the signs of drug use and address it before it causes problems that would ultimately require police intervention. Every drug that is seen in Fairview Township will be discussed, including marijuana, heroin, cocaine, and pills.
The seminar will be held at the Fairview Township Fire Hall, 340 Lewisberry Road, New Cumberland. There is no fee to attend, but you are asked to please register by clicking here or by calling the police department during normal business hours at (717) 901-5267.
