Three Mile Island Siren Testing

Exelon has recently installed a new state-of-the-art siren system within Three Mile Island’s 10-mile Emergency Planning Zone. Residents may hear the sirens as they test the system in accordance with FEMA requirements. Testing is scheduled on the following dates:

Thursday October 4th at 12:30 p.m.

Thursday October 18th at 12:30 p.m.

Thursday November 1st beginning at 8:00 a.m. and every 1.5 hours afterwards for up to 6 soundings

Thursday November 15th at 12:30 p.m.

The siren will sound for three-minutes and it is a test only; it is not a signal to evacuate. On the November 1st date, there will be multiple sirens throughout the day. If there is inclement weather, it may be postponed until Friday November 2nd. November 15th will be used as a second back-up date for multiple siren tests in case of inclement weather on both the 1st and 2nd.
