Officers Help Santa With Early Deliveries

On Sunday December 23rd, Fairview Township Police assisted Santa in making some early deliveries. Police Officers escorted Santa to several local residences where there were kids who could use a little extra Christmas cheer. The police department partnered with North Shore Friends in locating some families in need and arranged for the deliveries. On this day, 32 kids and one senior citizen received gifts from Santa. North Shore Friends arranged similar deliveries recently in other nearby communities as well, providing presents to over 300 kids. The Fairview Township Police Department feels that giving some children a better Christmas is yet another way we can help serve our community. It is also a good opportunity to help to foster a good relationship between the police and these families.

This and the other events would not have been possible without the assistance of North Shore Friends. North Shore Friends is a non-profit organization who’s goal is to help underprivileged kids in York, Cumberland, Perry, and Dauphin Counties. Funding of this program is made possible through business and community donations, as well as various fund raising events. To write a letter to Santa for future deliveries, or for more information on North Shore Friends, including learning how to donate to this worthwhile organization, please visit nsf4kids.org .
