Man Arrested For Drug Delivery Resulting in Death

Nicholas Andrew Provenza was charged with Drug Delivery Resulting in Death as well as Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

On October 5, 2012 the Fairview Township Police Department was dispatched to a medical call in the 400 block of Chestnut Way for a 21 year old male who was reported to be in cardiac arrest.  Upon arrival of the police and emergency medical personnel it was determined that the patient was deceased.  A search of the area around the victim provided evidence of the recent ingestion of illegal drugs, specifically heroin and marijuana.

The resulting investigation revealed that in the early morning hours of October 5, 2012, Provenza delivered a quantity of heroin to the victim at the Chestnut Way address in Fairview Township.  Ingestion of that heroin led to the death of the victim.

Provenza was arraigned on May 8, 2013 before Magisterial District Judge Scott Gross and released on $50,000 unsecured bail.  The preliminary hearing has been set for June 10, 2013.
