Man arrested for destroying an ATM

On May 29, 2013 the Fairview Township Police Department arrested 28 year old Justin Karl Wright of Newport with a felony count of Criminal Mischief and misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct.  Charges were filed in connection with an incident at the Summit Restaurant, 670 Yorktown Road.

On May 29, 2013 at 7:43 am an employee at the Summit Restaurant called 911 to report that there was a male beating the ATM outside their restaurant with a pipe.  Upon police arrival the male, later identified as Justin Karl Wright, was found with his arm inside the ATM up to his shoulder.  When asked what he was doing, Wright replied “nothing”.  Damage to the ATM was determined to be over $5,000.

It was later discovered that Wright had been arrested and released earlier this date for DUI by another police agency.

Wright was taken into custody and transported to the York County Booking Center were he was processed and arraigned on single counts of felony Criminal Mischief and misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct.
