Food Drive to Help Those in Need

The Fairview Twp Police Officer’s Association is conducting a summer food drive in conjunction with the Red Land Community Action Program (REDCAP).  REDCAP collects and distributes food to the greater Red Land Area. In May of this year, REDCAP distributed food to 139 different families consisting of 395 people. The summer months are even busier. During the school year, certain children receive free or reduced price breakfast and lunches through the schools, but those programs are not available to them during the summer.

REDCAP has requested the following items to help those children and families in need: pancake mix, syrup, baking mixes (cake, cookie, muffins), peanut butter, cereal, canned pork & beans, rice & noodles, tea bags and drink mixes.

The items can be dropped off at the Fairview Twp Police Department Monday through Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm, 145 Limekiln Rd, Suite 600, New Cumberland. If you know a family in need, please call REDCAP at 938-4621 for a food bank appointment or delivery of an emergency food box until an appointment can be made.
