Fairview Township man arrested after wielding a machete

On August 26, 2013 at 11:29 pm the Fairview Township Police Department was dispatched to the Harrisburg West Conference Center for a report of a male subject pulling a machete on another male subject.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that Brody D. Wilt, 19 years of age, initially had gotten into a physical domestic dispute with his girlfriend who he lives with at the hotel.  During that dispute, Wilt had bitten his girlfriend on the face and then threw her against the wall and spit in her face.  When Wilt left the room, his girlfriend called friends to come help her.   When the friends arrived, one confronted Wilt outside the hotel.  Wilt then pulled a machete and swung at the person striking him twice with the back side of the blade.  Wilt then pushed over this person’s motorcycle and fled the scene into the woods behind the Fairfield Inn.

After a prolonged search, a Fairview Township officer located Wilt along Beacon Hill Boulevard in Cumberland County and took him into custody without incident.  Wilt was transport to the York County Booking Center for processing.  He was charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Harassment and Criminal Mischief.  Wilt was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey Joy who set his bail at $15,000.
