The Fairview Township Police Department is investigating a string of residential burglaries that have occurred over the course of the last several weeks.
On March 13, 2014 police responded to the 800 block of Pinetown Road for a burglary involving an unattached garage. Stolen in this incident were a pair of dirt bikes, a Snap-on welder and various other tools.
On March 25, 2014 police responded to 400 block of Old York Road for a residential burglary. The front door had been pried open in this incident. Items stolen in this incident included copper piping and wiring, two saddles for horseback riding, various household items and various hand tools.
On April 4, 2014 police responded to a call for an active burglary in the 800 block of Moores Mountain Road. The homeowner came home to find a subject in her home. The homeowner ran from the home to call 911 from a neighboring residence. Upon police arrival, the suspect had fled the area. Items stolen included cash and prescription medication.
On April 4, 2014 police responded to an attempted burglary also in the 800 block of Moores Mountain Road. The homeowner in this incident came home to find fresh “pry marks” on a sliding glass door to the rear of his residence as well as on the back door to his garage. Nothing was found to be missing in this incident.
On April 7, 2014 police responded to the 700 block of Ridge Road. In this incident, the homeowner came home to find the front door had been pried open during the day. To this point, nothing has been identified as missing in this incident.
The Fairview Township Police Department asks residents, particularly those home during the day to be on the lookout for any suspicious activity in their neighborhoods. Anything that seems unusual or out of the ordinary should be reported as soon as possible to the police department.
