On June 2 at 1:30 PM, a Preliminary Hearing was held at Magisterial District Judge Scott Gross’ office for 39-yr old Peter Moore, who was facing charges of Aggravated Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Moore was charged by Fairview Township Police in May after they investigated an incident where his 14-month old son was being treated at Hershey Medical Center on March 9th for drop fractures to both legs. The injury occurred at Moore’s home in the 600 block of Observatory Drive, Lewisberry, and he was the only adult home with the child at the time it occurred. According to doctors at the hospital, the injuries could not have happened the way Moore explained it. Judge Gross bound all charges over for trial.
Moore was previously arrested by Fairview Township in 2003 for violently shaking his 3-month old son. He was charged with Attempted Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He plead no contest to those charges and was sentenced to 6-12 years in prison.
