Taser Used to Subdue Intoxicated Subject

On Friday night June 20th, Fairview Township Police were called to the parking lot of the Clarion Inn, located on Sheraton Drive, New Cumberland, for a report of an intoxicated man who was fighting with hotel staff and trying to leave on a motorcycle. The officer arrived and found an intoxicated 34-yr old Eric N. White from the 700 blk of School House Lane, Lewisberry, being held down by hotel staff. White resisted arrest and a Taser was used to take him into custody so that no one would get injured.

Police were told by witnesses that White had been inside the hotel bar and said he was going to the parking lot to get high. After hotel staff was notified that White knocked over his motorcycle, they went outside. White then accused the staff of trying to steal his motorcycle and began fighting with them. The staff held him down until police arrived.

A marijuana smoking device was found in White’s pocket, and police charged him with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Public Drunkenness. White was taken to the York County Booking Center for processing and arraignment.
