Firefighter Dan Solier with the Fairview Township Fire Department was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. Firefighting has been Dan’s passion his entire life, also having served with the Camp Hill Fire Department and as Chief with the Harrisburg Bureau of Fire. In addition to his firefighting duties at Fairview, Dan has spent time educating kids in our schools on fire safety.
The Fire Department will be holding two events on April 1st to help defray Dan’s medical bills. A community Chicken BBQ will be held from 11:00 a.m. until sold out and then a benefit dinner event with live entertainment will be held at the fire station from 5:00 P.M. until 11:00 P.M. Tickets for the benefit dinner can be purchased for $30 per person or $50 per couple and can be picked up at the Fairview Township Fire Department at 340 Lewisberry Road on Wednesday, March 22nd and Thursday, March 23rd from 6PM – 8PM. There may be additional dates yet to be announced when tickets can be purchased. Interested persons should check the Fairview Township Fire Department’s Facebook page at this link for additional information.
If you want to help but can’t make either of the events, there is also a Go Fund Me page that has been set up for him. Please consider supporting this man who has dedicated his life to helping others.
