Aggressive Driving Enforcement Program Begins

The Fairview Township Police Department is one of 206 municipal police departments and the Pennsylvania State Police participating in a state wide program that focuses on stopping Aggressive Driving as a means to reduce traffic crashes and improve safety for all persons on our roadways.  This program is part of the Pennsylvania Aggressive Driving Enforcement and Education Project and is funded by grants from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.  The Fairview Township Police Department was selected to participate in this program due to the number of traffic crashes we have investigated that have been attributed to aggressive driving behaviors.

The focus of the program will be on enforcement of specific aggressive driving violations.  Those violations include but are not limited to speeding, stop sign violations, red light violations, tailgating, careless or improper passing and careless or improper turning.  Motorists stopped for these violations can expect to receive traffic citations for their violations.  This wave of enhanced enforcement runs from March 20, 2017 through April 30, 2017
