PENNDOT has announced that on April 17, 2017 two major roads in Fairview Township will be closed for a bridge repair. A detour for this project will be posted. The roads that will be closed are Cedars Road, SR 0114 at Oak Hill Road and Nauvoo Road, SR 4029 at Cedars Road. These are heavily traveled commuter routes in the mornings and afternoons. Drivers are urged to plan their alternate route now.
The detour that PENNDOT has posted takes drivers attempting to travel into Cumberland County south on Lewisberry Road to Siddonsburg Road just outside of Lewisberry Borough. Traffic will then be sent west on Siddonsburg Road to Moores Mountain Road. Finally, traffic will be directed north on Moores Mountain Road to where it connects with Cedars Road. Conversely, traffic traveling east into Fairview Township from Cumberland County will be taken south on Moores Mountain Road to Siddonsburg Road. Then east on Siddonsburg Road to Lewisberry Road. Finally, traffic can travel north on Lewisberry Road which will lead back to Cedars Road.
These road closures are scheduled to be in place until August 7, 2017.
