On June 4, 2012, 41-yr old Steven Sylvester from Enola was arrested after fighting with police. Around 11:00 p.m. , Police were called to the Silver Lake Inn located in Lewisberry. Sylvester was to have smashed out the window of a car in the parking lot and threatened to shoot patrons. Newberry and Fairview Township police responded and found Sylvester trying to steal a car at Gross’ Manorette. Sylvester refused to listen to police and ran away, despite being warned that a police dog would be released. Newberry Twp’s K-9,Tazer, caught Sylvester but he still refused to obey police commands and continued fighting. After being restrained, Sylvester was transported to York Hospital to be treated for multiple injures sustained from his fight with the police K-9 and arresting officers. He was charged with numerous crimes including Aggravated Assault, Resisting Arrest, Taunting a Police Animal, Terroristic Threats, Resisting Arrest, and Attempted Theft.
UPDATE: On June 27, 2012, Steven Sylvester waived his right to a Preliminary Hearing in front of Magisterial District Judge Gross on the above listed charges.
